Sedation Dentistry Richardson
Say Goodbye to Stressful Dental Visits
For many people, just the idea of visiting the dentist, even for a routine checkup, can leave them completely terrified. This kind of fear has a name: dental phobia, and it causes millions of patients to miss out on much-needed dental care every year, leading them to develop serious (and what could’ve been preventable) problems.
If you or your child feels really anxious about dental care, sedation dentistry can help change all that. With it, we can calm those racing thoughts, make nerves melt away, and help appointments glide by on a carpet of relaxation. Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide, also called “laughing gas,” has been used for over a century in dentistry to help patients achieve a comfortable and pleasant experience, and the reason it’s still used today is simple: it works, and quite well.
The colorless, odorless gas is inhaled with a mixture of oxygen through a small mask placed over the nose, and within moments, any tension should begin draining out of the body as feelings of warmth and euphoria settle in. We’ll keep the mask on throughout the appointment and only take it off when everything is done. At this point, it will only take a few moments for you to feel completely normal again. The gas doesn’t have any lasting effects, meaning you can normally go straight back to school or work right after their visit.
